The MBRC defines itself by a vocation in oriented and applied research and development (R&D) as well as services of industrial research in biotechnologies. The MBRC acts as an intermediary (intermediate) (arrimage : anchoring?) organization between the academic institutions and the private companies by assuring research activities and industrial transfer for different market sectors. In addition, the MBRC provides a scientific and technological supervision model to complete the already available support needs of business enterprises.

The specific objectives the MBRC offers to corporations are to :

Create and maintain a hotbed of innovation and a quality culture for the industrial development of new products with added value in the biotechnology sector, including those of marine biotechnolgies;

Support technological innovation and the transfer of new technologies and products to businesses.

To undertake and implement research activities, technological development, services for companies and technological vigil in the biotechnology sector particularly those of marine biotechnologies.
