In order to maintain this unique position and to meet the needs of the area’s industrial development, and thus facilitate the validation and release of products developed by the company that assigns R&D work to the MBRC, the latter has obtained and maintained the following certifications and recognitions:

• An establishment license from Health Canada for accomplishing work using good laboratory practices applicable to natural health products and pharmaceutical products (# 101316-A).

• Recognition from NSERC making the financing of the industrial internship of undergraduate and postgraduate university students and industrial post-doctoral students possible.

• Recognition from the Québec Ministry of Finance as an accredited R&D centre to allow companies to maximize the R&D tax credits.

• Two accreditations for a Level 3 containment microbiology laboratory from Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (biosafety related to the microbiologic testing of products).
